Henrik Ibsen (1828 - 1906)

 

Henrik Ibsen is one of the greatest names in world literature. 15 years old he moved to Grimstadto be apprenticed to Jens Aarup Reimann, chemist, and at that time he started his poetry works.

Ibsen was a central figure in the modern breakthrough in European cultural life and is considered the father of modern drama.

Altogether Ibsen published 26 dramas and a collection of poetry. 

 

The oldest preserved photograph of Ibsen taken by Eduard Larssen in Kristiania i 1861 or 1862.
